I-Ride Shuttle Service is introducing some exciting changes for the winter 2010 semester. We now offer more regular service to grocery stores like Wal-Mart and Broulim’s. Mon, Wed, and Fri our bus heads downtown in the afternoon and early evening time. There are now specific drop off and pick up times at local grocery stores. We also added an extra route on Saturday.

We have also extended our regular route by two blocks to include stops at the Post Office, Little Caecers, Paramount Twin Movies, The Craze, The Pita Pit, and many other surrounding businesses. This stop has been designated the “Movies/Food” stop and our bus passes by nearly 20 times a day!

Finally, we have introduced a few new ways to ride. Now you can choose to pay for unlimited rides for one month with our “Month Pass.” There is also a “Shopping Pass” that allows you to ride to grocery stores for the entire semester! We have also made it convenient to purchase rides by selling our passes at the BYU-Idaho University Store. You can even choose to pay for a single ride at the cash register. Simply purchase 1 ride for $1.25 and give your receipt to our driver.

We are continually looking for ways to improve and grow. For questions or comments, please feel free to contact us!

If you drive:

Driving yourself can be such a hassle! How many times have you driven up and down the streets searching for an open parking spot? How long do you let your car warm up in the morning and how much gas does that waste? What about scraping your windows? Do you forget to factor in the time it takes and just find yourself peering through a tiny hole in the windshield because it’s too cold to do a good job? That is incredibly dangerous! Many drivers have to leave at least 20-25 minutes early just to find a parking spot. Then how often do you find a good parking spot and get to class early or even on time?! I-Ride’s first pick up is 30 minutes before classes start and gets you to campus early.

What if you’re married and only have one car? Isn’t it annoying to try and set up times to meet or leave early because your spouse has class before you? What if you have a group meeting or need to go to work? Imagine how easy it would be for one (or both) to take the shuttle. A pass can be used interchangeably and we offer a discount for married students who need to buy two semester passes. Forget about a “B” pass “U” pass and “F” pass and just get a single “ride pass!”

If you walk:

Let’s be honest – if you live two or three blocks from campus it is a long walk every day and it really adds up. Even if you live across the street from campus, you may have a class at the top of the hill on the other side of campus! It’s okay to admit you get tired of walking and that it takes a long time. What if you could spend those precious minutes cramming for a test or listening to a podcast you missed? Heck – just spend them not walking!

And have you ever experienced the frozen tundra of Rexburg in the winter? Well below freezing temperatures, frigid winds, and tremendous snow drifts are all right around the corner, my friends. You need waterproof snow boots just to cross the street because of the sick nasty slush that’s created from Rexburg’s snow removal strategies. Seriously, do you want to deal with that? Just buy a pass for the shuttle that more than likely stops close to your apartment complex. And if it doesn’t – demand that it does buy sending me an email!

Grocery Stores

Not much needs to be said for why you should use I-Ride to get to and from the grocery store. First you have to get there. Then you have to carry all those sacks with you. All of this when you could just get a ride!!

Hello everyone. This is Jason, the owner of I-Ride Shuttle Service. Thanks for taking a moment to look over our website. We are happy to see that you are considering using I-Ride. There are a few things I hope you will take into consideration.

I never would have thought that putting this together would require so much. There is an incredible amount of planning and organizing that must take place in order to provide a meaningful service. Because BYU-Idaho has not seen a shuttle service such as this, there are so many unknowns. Therefore, I request your patience as we do our very best to serve you.

After reviewing our business plan, we have decided to eliminate the “$150 Area Pass” and to offer a single “Semester Pass” available to all students, regardless of where they live. This pass will allow for unlimited rides anywhere in Rexburg. What does that mean for you? One semester has approximately 70 days. If you were to ride twice a day, you would total about 140 rides. That comes out to be only $0.71 per ride and $7.00 a week. In addition, if you require transportation to and from grocery stores on a regular basis, you will save even more.

We understand that I-Ride Shuttle Service will not be able to reach virtually every student at BYU-Idaho at the present time. We hope and plan that our services will expand each semester in order to include a larger percentage of students. For those students who are within our reach – we invite you to take advantage of the services offered to you.

Again, thank you for your attention to I-Ride Shuttle Service.

Jason
